Pre-Prosthetic Oral Surgeries

Precision and Care for Every Smile

These are a group of surgical procedures performed inside the oral cavity with the goal of improving the site of future dental prosthetics and enhancing their functional stability on the jaw.

Specialized Solutions for Complex Oral Health Needs

Pre-prosthetic surgeries are performed on the soft tissues, hard tissues (bone), or both.
They may involve reducing or increasing dimensions (shortening, lengthening, thinning, thickening).

Common examples include:

  • Releasing a tight lip or tongue frenum to improve mobility and length
  • Removing large or redundant gum folds
  • Removing bony prominences beneath dentures
  • Increasing or widening bone dimensions prior to prosthetic placement

A Step Toward Better Oral Health

Pre-prosthetic surgeries may be associated with mild to significant swelling and discomfort, depending on the extent of the procedure.
However, symptoms are temporary and typically resolve within a few days.
All treatments are performed under local anesthesia.
